Songspot

I've just finished writing the lyrics for "Stars". It's a song I've been working at it for about a year. I guess writing in abstract but in a broad commutable perspective has been pretty hard, but I'm glad I was able to express so many things in such simple content.

Probably the message I am trying to get across is our insignificance in this universe. But still our indulgence on what we see in front is good enough. We don't look up anymore, we don't see the how everything has such little meaning, and therefore we are lost in our perceived world, a dreamland where we see what we want to see.
Stars
Do you know why
people stare at the stars
Does it make you feel good
Does it tell you
how insignificant we are
like the sky's an endless sea

Did you reach across the other side of the galaxy
I can't seem to find my way

(Chorus)
Cause I can't see the stars tonight
I can't see the light in your eyes
I'm looking from a distance
following your guide
Till I see the stars in your eyes

I am moving
Chasing shooting stars
like a dream that isn't real
It's a calling
we're finding who we are
look ahead now I can't see

Make a wish of hope and hope someday you'll find your wish
I will stay awake tonight
(Chorus)

I want to believe
Like I believe in shooting stars
I want to find my way to you
Finding my way oh oh oh to you
(Chorus)

Now we're standing underneath the stars
do you feel the way I do. *end*

Gone is that cup of Teh Ice

Article number: 3

3.

(1) Islam is the religion of the Federation; but other religions may be practised in peace and harmony in any part of the Federation. - The constitution of malaysia

"bang! kasi teh ice satu!", I feel more and more nostalgic about Malaysia each time I utter that phrase. Never would I have thought that I would consider coming back to Malaysia after graduating and contribute to this country despite the constant disappointment in every part of the Malaysian society, community, and government.

I believe that as soon as "my generation" of Malaysians take over the cabinet, the governments very own branch of family politics would seek to continue the terrible trend that is evident here today.

But yet at the same time, I believe. I believe in "my generation" to be aware that the social struggle doesn't revolve around a particular race, but on the peoples initiative as a whole, to do what is right for the country and not for one self.

I believe that the "who you know" situation isn't what makes or break a man here.

I believe that women should be given equal rights as men. (So don't just condemn a muslin woman for drinking, get those male muslim hypocrites too if you dare say to practice what you preach).

I believe that peace isn't about tolerance, it is about respect.

Too much white hair! I'm only 20 years old man!

So, I've been giving some thought into this whole thing about destiny and purpose in life lately, and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. You can say that I had hit a road block, or that I've been driving on a foggy road, you get the gist.

Some may argue that I think too much, if I just let things be and let God guide me things will always turn out great. What if I don't want great, what if I want more than great. I hate my sense of ambition sometimes, ego turns to pride and the only thing that stands in your way is this thing called life.

But hey! Things always do turn out great don't they :D.

...

I turned 20 a couple of months back *coughstillam...coughnot21yet* and to be honest it's really not a big deal to me. I guess I finally see why most older people don't bother celebrating their birthdays anymore. The world is still the same as it was, somewhere in the world, people are dying, someone is commiting a felony, weapons are being made, politicians are still putting on a public face, nothing changes really.

We live in a very flawed society, governed by rules and a system that is clearly for the benefit of the ruler. Peoples voices are being shuned away as their ego and arrogance grows. Democracy is just a word, misguided, and misused to their own liking.

In Africa, the Togo football team was being sprayed with bullets. How does these people see any good in violence? This is tyrany I'd say.

The power of imagination

I had recently watched the movie "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus", for the second time (the first being a month back when it was released in Australia) just to get a grip of the ideas behind the movie.

(warning spoiler alert)

In many ways, the movie was very intriguing and deep. A question that was stuck with me throughout the movie was the metaphor behind the imagination. One of the scene where the devil, Nick, paid Doctor Parnassus, who was still a young monk a visit, Parnassus said if he and his people were to stop the story from being told, all things would seize to exist. But when Nick stops everyone from telling the story with his cool-little-phone-gadget, nothing seemed to happen, everything still exists, the sun still shines, and the wind still blows. A bird then takes a poop on Nick, and Parnassus laughed saying that it's all clear to him, that the story cannot be stopped from being told, because somewhere far away, someone is telling a different story.

I know the idea is really simple, but it is so fascinating to me. Everyone has a story, an imagination, a destiny that's within them, and the limit only depends on how far ones imagination can take them. Imagination in its nature alone is limitless, and we can be who ever we want to be, but this comes with choice. The choices we make in life, do we defy who we are and change together with time, or do we stick our ground, remain pure, uncorrupted from the world that is manifested by men and their "unnecessities".

One nation, ignorant, arrogant, naive government

First was a Hindu temple, now, Christian churches. Is the government so desperate for votes during the next election? Is it really worth it to stir the peace of the country by making unnecessary accusations?

The word 'allah' has been used for centuries in the Arab nations which carries the meaning God. It doesn't belong to any race or religion in particular, neither does any race or religion has the right to call it their own.

All I can say is that the malaysian government is naive. The welbeing of a country doesn't revolve around a religion or a race, it is a system that works as a whole. People, not Individual; Malaysia, not Chinese, malays, or Indians.

Direction

All the inspiration that I need
is when I hear you calling out for me
and I will walk the only road that's true
when I'm walking next to you. -

Walking Next To You- Acres

Here's the thing, people tend to say lets do this, lets do that, but in the end all the suggestions and the hype created just go to waste. Another example, is when someone who is full of ambition, talent, charisma, you name it, but lacks the focus and hops from one goal to another only to get disappointed. They say failure is the seed for success, but they don't tell you that you need to accept that failure by heart first.
